May 24 – Villafranca del Bierzo to Herrerias de Valcarce (18.8 km)

Temps have really dropped. Breaking out the long sleeves and jackets again.

In early pilgrim days, if you could make it to Villafranca, but could not continue to Santiago, you could get absolution and a compostella here, at the Door of Pardon. Not sure why here, but there you go.

An older gentleman walked up to me and gave me this rose and some cherries from his garden.

This would seem strange anywhere but the Camino.
