May 9 – Burgos to Hornillas (21.4 km)
On the road again! Today we cross The Meseta, which I’ve been hearing a lot about. It’s a long stretch of crop-fields. Apparently very quiet and peaceful, but no stops and no shade. (I have my sunscreen with me today!!!)
I won’t be staying in Hornillas tonight. They’ll be driving me to nearby Isar, which is apparently not uncommon at this stop. Then they’ll drive me back in the morning. There‘s also a free shuttle for pilgrims since accommodation in Hornillas is sparse. I’ll be driven off the Camino a couple of times on this trip and this will be my first go at it.
