April 28 – Akerreta to Pamplona (15.9 km)

Today is the first hike listed as “easy” on the itinerary. Looking forward to that, as well as seeing Pamplona.

Tonight I’m reflecting on how lucky I am.

I knew I was lucky to be able to be doing this.

I knew it would be amazing.

It is so much more amazing than my brain had the capacity to imagine.

It is so astoundingly beautiful here.

The people are so very lovely.

The food is so delicious (I plan on having Basque cake every day. It tastes like everything that is good in the world, sprinkled with powdered sugar.)

It is only day 2.

Lucky is not sufficient to express what I am.

All that being said……my feet are sore.

My hotel was in the movie The Way. It is absolutely adorable. I am the only guest.

I’m not sure why everyone gives out such huge key-rings. It’s adorable, but it’s also like carrying a brick.
