Not the most scenic day. And very hot. But thankfully not too long.
On the Road to Find Out
May 13 – Carrion de los Condes to Calzadilla de la Cueza (18.8 km)
At this point I go off-book. By “book“ I mean the Brierley guide, which is essentially THE guide for doing the Camino. Brierley has 33 stages and I’m taking a little longer than that.
(The book is actually called A Pilgrim’s Guide to the Camino de Santiago, but literally no one calls it that. It’s The Brierley Guide, or sometimes just Brierley.)

A fabulous dinner tonight. In addition, we went to a lovely place where the nuns sang for us and gave us each a personal blessing. They allow pictures/video but ask that they not be put on the internet and I’m respecting that. Suffice it to say that it was very moving.

Y’ALL.
My hotel tonight is AMAZING.
It’s a refurbished monastery (first documents of it from 948 – but I don’t think the structure has been here that whole time.). It was a stopping place for pilgrims originally and now it is again!
It’s so beautiful.
